Reasons that schools banned colors
1. Reducing conflict stemming from socio-economic status, i.e., conflicts stemming from comments and personal attacks about who has better clothing and so on.
2. Reducing ways in which gang members can identify themselves which, in essence, is a form of intimidation and creates fear.
3. Reduces the risk of students being robbed to and from school, or for that matter in school, of expensive clothing, jewelry, etc.
4. In the case of uniforms, could help school administrators identify non-students, trespassers, and other visitors in the hallways who stand out in the crowd.

I hate this school color thing! I think it doesnt matter what color you wear because you can still be in a gang wearing yellow =]
I don't think that the color rules are really helping anything. If there are gang members at the school then they can just pick another color to wear. Soon they'll have us in uniforms once all the colors are taken as gang colors.

I think colors shouldnt be banned from school. People should be able to wear any color they want. Gangs will always have there own color and banning them from schools isnt going to make a difference
Those are all really valid reasons, but Bullard is not the worst school in Fresno and I don't think it's right that one of the colors we can't wear is a school color.
I think the banning of wear certain colors is not solving anything. Gangs can chose to wear a color that is allowed, however it is distracting.
I agree and disagree with banning colors from school. Because some kids do take the color thing to far. and people do take things like that seriously because of there gang color(if you have a gang). but its also not fare for the kids who have nothing involved with that to be punished but thats just the way it is.
the color thing is kinda stupid. gangs are still forming no matter what color the ban and any color could be a gang color!!!

i sort of agree with this because i know what can happen when a certain color is worn in public or to school. injuries occur, and thats not right.

I really dislike the color rules. I mean really colors are colors, like just because you wear a certain color (like red) it doesn't mean that person is in a gang.

I do not think this is a working rule. If a gang wants to identify themselves their are so many ways for them to do it. Taking away colors from students isn't one of them. Now students are scared to wear those colors thinking they will be associated with a gang.
I disagree with banned colors at school. Like how we can't wear solid red or "royal" blue shirts at Bullard. In my culture, red means "good luck, long life" and my favorite color is blue. We should wear what we want to wear, were not all in a gang, and not all gangs wear red and blue.

How do you ban a color? thats like banning a word; its too vague.
This is one of the most dumbest rules jus because a certian group wears a color doesnt mean the other person with that same color is in that same gang.We should be able to wear what we want.
This banned colors thing is not helping. Just banning a few colors will not change the whole gang thing. Does wearing a certain color make you a gang member?
